hi. could someone please explain the whole function of the airpump on an a14? is it entirely for emissions or does it serve other vital functions? is it ok to run without it? (like without the the pulley... she seems to run a little better that way.) thanks for anything. -nelson

You can run the engine without the airpump without a drama. It's purely an emissions thing, it introduces extra air into the exhaust to burn any left over fuel before it escapes out the tailpipe.
