Well it is a DATSUN 1200 forum... and this question has been asked a thousand times... use the search box <<<<< over there to find previous responses, or the wiki engine swaps section...

My money's on an A12: it goes well and fits easiest into a 1200 ute.

The CA18 is not in itself "hard to put in a 1200" but you will still want to give yourself a healthy budget to make sure the project doesnt fall over because of insufficient funds.

My choice would be an A15.
