If you have an origional choke cable with a twin outlet that has crap cables you can get them remade.

yea good idea if I can't find the original choke mechanism may have to go that way or if I know what it looks like my be able to fabricate one

Just a thought but you could try places that work on old minis and MGs like the Healey Factory or Link Automotive in Mitcham.
They had a 1 into 2 cable from memory...

Try Midel in Sydney or any carby shop should have a twin choke cable.

I got a cable from a motorbike wreckers which had a device that joins onto a single cable and transfers the movement to two cables. Hard to explain, but easy to understand (and use) once you see it. Works a treat. Cost me $10!

If you depsperately want to see it I might be able to take a photo, but I never seem to be home in daylight.
