Hi all

Yesterday i found that my fuel pump was not pumping after finding this out i took the pump off the engine and i found that the pumping arm that goes onto the cam shaft had broken off of the pump. I was able to retrieve the arm from the engine in the hole where the pump goes in but i couldent find the spring.

so here is my question if i ran the engine would that spring damage anything inside the engine or would it just fall to the botom of the sump and stay there?

Any help and advice would be apreciated

thanks

Hmmm.... if it was me, I would keep driving it. The spring could eventually damage something, however I think the chance is low. It's too big to get into the oil pickup strainer.
