Just looking through ebay and i come across a 1200 ute that has an SR20DET and it states that it has full engineers certificate and RWC supplied, Although it is located in Melbourne VIC i didn't think you could register and engineer a 1200 with a 2-litre turbo, i was told that 1.8 turbo or 2Lt NA do the laws in Victoria allow this? wants $30 000 for the ute.

I was told the other day that new laws in NSW will soon make it difficult to engineer 1200's with big motors with turbos, has anyone else heard this?

this is the ad on ebay for the 1200 ute with the SR20DET- Check it out!

The MadDat ute was SR Turbo equipped and engineered.

i honestly can't see 75k in this ute???? but there is alot you can't see in the photos as previously stated only 160kw???? i met a guy that built a 1200 coupe drag car with a 13b PP, 9 sec quarter mile time, It ran a bullsh!t amount of boost and had a bullsh!t HP, he spent $65 000.
A mate of mine spent $40 000 on his 1600 and is pushing 315Rwhp out of his SR20.

It says that the SR engine has done "less than 10,000 K's work" but does not say that those K's were done in that car.
I suspect that it has never been registered but has the engineering documentation to allow registration.

This might explain why it has never been seen on the street & is so little known by the in-crowd.

SR20 into 1200 ute has been done in WA (it does 10 seconds aswell) all approved.

you better be friendly with your local rego boys though...and an engineer.

(lots of red tape these days)
