The crown wheel on a sedan is 145mm in diameter and a ute crown wheel is 165mm in diameter.

Newer utes have 165mm ring gear.
1970-1973 utes have 145mm ring gear.

To tell sedan from ute, check the ratio:
* Sedan/Coupe: 39 ring teeth, 10 pinion teeth (3.9 ratio)
* Ute/wagon: 41 ring teeth, 10 pinion teeth (4.11 ratio) ???
