Question for those with a long memory or a head for facts. Did the 1200 coupe compete at Bathurst in either Production or Improved prodution pre '73?

I run a 1600 in Group Nc and I'm looking for a project car to build for a friend and our customers to join the class in. I'm thinking of a 1200 but I'm not sure if they will let me run disk brakes or not. The coupe would be better but it had to have competed in Aust. priour to '73.

I don't think there were any coupes prior to 1973.....I think it was all sedans. At least that's what all the photos I've seen of early Bathurst 1200's.

Thanks for the reply, that backs up my findings also. However IF we can prove that the coupe ran ANY cams meeting as a production car or improved prodution car prior to '73 we will be able to get them on the list as a group Nc car. That would be a huge result.

sheesh, padantic, surely they could relax that rule a little. Its still a datsun 1200 for gods sake.

As i am an old fart now my memory is not that good (that was 35 years ago)but i believe Roxbourgh recieved the factory prepaired 1200coupe in 1973 and it did not run in 1972.
If your in Melb you could ask Bill,he is in the phone book,he may be able to shed more light on the facts or ring CAMS??
