just wanted to know if anyone could tell me where cam gear mark should be if the crank gear mark is approx.10 o'clock at TDC ???? many thanks if anyone can help.

sorry mate. the only thing i can tell you is that with the cam sprocket locating dowel at 4oclock and the crank drive key at 4oclock you should be on the money. if they are in the right spot you should be able to hold a straight edge up and run it right through the middle of the 2 shafts and inline with the 2 locating keys/drives.

so at 10 oclock (if the key drive is at 10 oclock when no1 tdc compression) you have moved the crank 180 degrees clockwise so that means you have moved the cam 90degrees clockwise. which makes it 7oclock on the camshaft clock.

or otherwise you have moved the crankshaft 540degrees clockwise (tdc no1 exhaust going from what you've said) and that would make that cam 270degrees past 4 oclock which makes it 1 oclock on the camshaft clock.

if in doubt just start again mate.
