Stroked A14, decreasing the stroke |

Hey guys
I wanted to know if anyone of you have ever build a stroker A14, but not using the A15 crank to increase the stroke, but rather going with a big bore and decreasing the stroke ?
Because most of us know a short stroke rev's harder.
Please supply input into this topic and correct me if i'm wrong.

I believe a couple of speedway engines were built for the compact speedcar class which had a 1400 cc limit, that were A14's with an A12 crank & bored out to 79 mmm resulting in a 1400 cc screamer engine.Not sure what conrods you'd use to make up for the decreased stroke, probably a set of custom conrods would be needed. Thats all I know, maybe somebody else has more information.

Would it be possible to get a late model Nissan Micra, fit the 1.8 litre motor from a Tiida & then turbocharged it? Your answer must include parts numbers for the conversion. You have 12 months. Commence.

Did those engines prove themselfs on the track ?

If what i heard was correct they were pretty competitive, being capable of beating the motorcycle powered cars regularly.

What sort of track are you thinking Clive - A speedway track? (that's one of those dirt oval tracks in Australia) - or a circuit, or rally...

I would like to think circuit, Oval engines also work hard. This information i need is going into street ute but i want a full spec engine :(
