a-12 timing please help

new to this so be kind . what timing advance do youy guys run with mild cams? wont idel under 15^ runs and no bottom end. set to 20 -25^idels around 1000 drives like normal car with take off. cant hear any ping yet.( weber as loud as a jet on take off ) just woried about the amont off advace!

Check the timing with the advance/retard vac pipe off the dizzy

We mostly run 0 advance at idle. So be sure to disconnect the vacuum line and plug it while checking the timing at idle.

Factory specification is 5 to 10 degrees static timing at 600-750 RPM. With a high-PM cam you may need to idle faster, maybe as high as 1200 RPM.

Remember that above 550 RPM, mechanical advance starts in. See Distributor
