Hieveryone. I have an oil pressure question. I noticed from the stock Datsun oil gauge that.

1. During idle. Oil pressure is shown ashalf the gauge . This is normal.

2. When I start driving, the pressure goes up a bit then starts to drop a bit.

Anything more the 3500 RPM, the oil pressure drops to less then 1/4 the gauge. This cant be right, right?

What could be wrong? Faulty oil pump? faulty pressure releif? Where should I start 1st.

I did a search and found a post by 210Sleeper. How was the problem resolved?

If the gauge you are refering to is the stock electrical gauge then your problem is more likely the SENDER for that gauge.
They do wear out and can give crazy readings.
If you really want to know what the oil pressure is doing, connect a mechanical gauge temporarily, and that will not tell lies.
Then you can decide where the problem may be.
New senders for the stock gauge are available from Nissan.
