hey mate, try backing off the idle screw, and adjust the idle from the idle mix screw, what you may find happening is that becos the mix is wrong your adjusting the butterfly too far open and this intermittant fluctuation is actually caused becos its sucking in and occasionally it picks up the low speed jet or main jet causing the extra fuel causing the rpm to increase.. so bak off the idle screw and adjust it from the mix screw first... also is yr timing advanced too far? that may add to this same problem.... iv had this b4, difrent carb but same problems and that was the reason..
