Hi Guys,

I'm looking to make LED tail lights for my 1200 deluxe to fit in the original lenses.

I'm a little worried about visibility - I dont know which LED's to use and how many. I can get 10mm, 8mm, 5mm & 3mm Super bright red LED's then the normal bright LED's in the same sizes but more colors (for reverse and indicator lights)

Has anyone done a simillar conversion or have any ideas on visibilty of the different types of LED's, ideas on reflectors (neccesary or not), layouts?

Thanks

You'll want the smaller, flatter type. Not sure what else to call them?!? Definitely not the old type where they are covered with a dome like plastic cap.
Try and find out what angle/degree light is visible from them in their spec sheet. The wider the better. I'd say that you want to try and use as many as you can neatly. Those small replacement led globes look terrible and give bad visibility.
I'm sticking with normal globes on this build- No ADR's on homemade lights i wouldn't think..
