Hello, I wanted to know what the widest tyres that can be put on a standard datsun 12" rim or if there is other 12" rims out there that have a wider tread? I saw some once a long time ago, they were 12" and had 205s or something. Quite an off set too.

i have 165/55 12" Radials on my 1200.

The 12-inch Datsun wheels are only 4" wide. Technically the maximum width tire would be a 175. However, you see that people 'stretch' wider tires onto rims...

I am getting some quad bike rims. They are 12x7's and cost $90 each brand new! The pcd is 110 but I will just get them redrilled to the correct spacing. Thanks for the heads up cheats.

Are quad wheels certified to go 140kph and carry 700kg per wheel? The Datsun 1200 steel wheels can handle that...

They are designed for racing quads that do 60ft jumps so I believe they are okay. The man from the shop believed they are well and truly up to the job.

What the man from the shop believes & what the rims are certified to cary may or may not be the same thing.
I wonder if the man from the shop would be prepared to cover any financial or legal liability if they should not live up to expectations.

Do the quads actually do a vertical drop of 60ft? I suspect not.
The quads also weigh a lot less than a Datsun.
