Hey I have come across a quandry. I have an H145 that came out of a 1200 wagon. It has a small pinion flange, that doesn't fit any of the drive shafts I have. Do you think that it might be possible to swap the flange from another H145, without needing to change the crush tube?

I think maybe. The drive pinion nut appears to hold the flange on. And this nut is what is tightened to adjust preload. However, I tightened a loose one, and it didn't seem to hurt the diff. Perhaps if you retighten exactly the same it may be OK.

It might be best to swap what you have for a stock Datsun 1200 tailshaft.

Here is stock H150 flange and H145 flange:

Haven't been able to find one. ALL the d/shafts I have have the larger rear yolk, including the one in the 1200 that the diff is going into. As a last resort the pinion flange might have to be changed, but that might risk the preload.

I have got a H145 in my coupe but my diff is shot. I'm changing it out soon. I am fitting up a H150 to get me out of trouble. You can have my pinion yoke for the cost of post. How much of a hurry are you in?

I'm not sure. It's actually for a young fella I know. Him and his dad came around the other day. His sidegears wnet bye bye. (As they do) I wouldn't mind betting it may ahve already had a H150 in it, hence why his d/shaft doesn't fit the genuine 145 pinion flange. I'll pass you offer on to him, although I think his dad is "project managing" the job for him.
