I think we have had this discussion before but I was wondering if the V6 out of my VRII, (4.2 Stroker, pretty quick) would go in without to much hassle. My biggest concern would be the weight. Mass over the front like that would do some nasty things to suspension, C of G ect. What do you think?
It is just that my Daughter and her "Mates" used my o'l VR Dunnydoor as a 4x4 the other day and she is bent in places it shouldn't be. Only put new Ultraride struts from King Springs on it a couple of months ago and now the off side one has about a 10 deg bend in it at the bottom spring mount. My Daughter came home, car covered in red mud and said" Oh Dad, I think the car needs a wheel alignment. It is steering a bit funny."

PIGDOG is doing a V6 conversion in a ute have a look through his Photo album. Its just a burnout car but im sure he we still do it properly as he does with all his other work. It will fit after a bit of cutting but if you want your car to keep its original lines then some big mods would be needed Full Chassis etc Otherwise it will just twist like licorice as you can imagine and end up goin down the road like a Hermit crab on a beach. Plus you wouldnt get it engineered.

Someone here has done this i believe. I take it you mean into a 1200. I think they had to remove all the front radiator support panel to make it all fit. let alone the trans tunnel issues to have a T350 auto box shoved in there.

Its a fairly major cut and shut operation that ends up bieng a striaght line car. Forget corners, it will behave like a 70s falcon.

Would be fun for drags, or as a thrash machine though. personally i would only do it to a shell that is beyond repair, unlicensed, and you are happy to butcher, otherwise no dont do it.

You could make a rear engine mount buggy instead...

I owned a 70's Falcon. I know it would be a pig. It was just a late night thought.

yeag pig dog is doing one but he seems quite the handy man when it comes to fabrication. he says that the wiring is dead easy too. suspension would be a drama. i'm sure it would go like stink in a straight line tho. i'm sure there was someone on here not long ago saying they had one registered in vic or nsw maybe. not sure. have a look through the forum. surely dodgy tho.
