I've never had an engine go that far and still be in good condition, not even a Datsun engine. Still running, yes, but smokes.

I've got a VL commodore (Nissan RB30) which has 400,000 kms (250,000 miles) on it without any sort of major work. It still goes fine, just blows a little smoke on start up due to old valve guide seals. Still had 160-170 psi compression in all cylinders about 30,000 kms ago. I reckon 300,000 shouldn't be too hard to achieve if it was cruising up and down a highway all day and was getting regular servicing.
