I have a datsun 1200 GX Coupe with twin carbs. We have endless problems with the carbs and now looking to change to single carb but 1400 manifold is different to 1200. Can we use a 1400 head on a 1200block, if not what can we do.

Yes, you can use a A14 head on A12. Depending on the year, you may need to drill a new oil passage in the A14 head.
