Hi guys,
I have a rebuilt A14 engine and am about to put the stock carby back on. I've been told that the A12 stock carby has bigger jets than the A14 carby and I'm better off using it. Is this true and what are your thoughts/suggestions/experiences?

I seem to remember reading that aswell? probly because the a14 in a newer motor and has smaller jets for emissions.

i think they may be talking showbags.i cant see how a 1200 would have bigger jets.i would suggest to rebuild your 1400 one and it will run sweet.was any work done to your engine?
it has bigger ports, manifold and more cc so u would think it would need more fuel in the mix?

Showbags! haha. Yeah that's what I thought but they said the A12 has to work harder hence more fuel. Engines pretty stock. Re-bored slightly larger with over sized pistons. Oval port manifold but round port head.

I'm asking much the same question I have a 1200 motor and want to bolt on a 1500 carby. even though volume of air fuel mixture / mintute is 25% different. the air fuel ratio should stay the same or is there holes in this theory
