Yea dellow are the crowd to see, but the price is closer to $850 for the belhousing kit, plus a second hand box $300. I think they do a complete ready to go kit for around $1500.

The you will need to make custom gearbox mounts too.

If you can chase down a 23 spline version with the medium length selector shaft. These are the strongest of the split case t50 and almost a perfet length to fit the existing gearstick hole.

They are ceratinly a good upgrade for the ole datto since the original datsun 5 speeds command a high price.

Are the 23 spline versions available with any other shifter position? And is the shifter position interchangeable from one casing to another?
Reason I ask is everywhere besides here that I've looked there's vague info as to the shifter position (reuby_tuesday, yours is by far the clearest). reason I ask is that I'm a little over 6 foot, and desperately need alter the seat in teh coupe or replace it with one further back to give me much needed leg room. Due to the relative lengths of my arms/legs etc, this would start to make the standard shifter position a touch further forward than would be ideal, and I'd actually welcome a shifter that was a little further back.

I'm pretty sure the position is as far back as it can go
You might need to just make a custom shirter jmac

I only see one shifter position here...and from memory mine has no choices either

Jmac the ae86 and some corollas with the 3tc have the T series with the shifter further
back, problem I see is that these boxes are getting rare. I would suggest you look at
modifying a mazda 929 rwd manual 5 speed on the MA engines, these boxes bellhousing
are smooth and of similar size to the 60A G/boxes and would just need a good cut and
shut providing you can sort out some way to align them.
There is also an endless supply of hilux gearboxes which are W55 and 59. These are
lighter than the steel case W series with shifter positions to suit your hearts desire.
The auto jatco A series bellhousing is the exact same length as the W series manual
bellhousings by co-incidence as I found out recently sorting all my bits.
