hey guys im a bit confused about what the wiki says about putting a t50 in a 1000. has anybody done it? is there any cutting involved? thanx

We put the Celica box in the circuit car(sedan)and yes,it was not going to go into the tunnel far enough to keep everything straight.Our solution was to weld in the back half of a Sunny tunnel,although someone smarter than this author may disagree.

the gear shifter hole has to get cut out about 60mm due to the shifter being further to the rear
and where the clutch fork pops out of the bix i had to cut a bit there to get the clutch cable on and for it to move
other than that has long has your t50 has the dellow bell housing kit it will fit fine in the stock tunnel

will up load pic's if you need

I had one in a 1000 2 door sedan, cut a bit out of each side of tunnel where the mounts were and riveted some tin back over the holes.

it all depends on which t50 you get there are three different sizes
small medium and long version
pretty sure the shortest one is out of the ta22 celicas and the longer versions are from other models except im not to sure what they are!

i think the long versions are from the 4age powered toyo's these are the 3t ones..
whilst the 2t are the celica ones
