ok so everything is back in place but i cant get the clutch cable back on. at the moment its conneted at the gearbox end but its against the pressure plate and the other end is pulled in as far as it goes. anyone got any ideas as to why this is?

also how long will i need to turn it ovr with the starter until i get oil pressure in an A15?

Have you primed the oil filter?

i always put the pedal end of the cable on first (lot more room at gearbox) and wind the cable in as much as possible at the adjustment where the cable goes through the firewall to give u as much free play as possible to get the end on the gearbox.
not 100% sure on oil pressure but wouldnt think you would get any pressure till the engine has started and had a chance to pick the oil up

yes chris i filled the oil filter up befroe i put it on

well the problem is that the clutch fork is pulling back so far that the other end of the cable (pedal end) cant go any further and is being held by the cable sheath

I got no idea about the clutch. I'm not sure I understand whats going on.

But with the oil.

Just crank it over as you would normally and when she fires up and starts to run check that the rockers are oiling etc.

You can remove the spark plugs and spin it over using the starter motor just to get some flow happening (careful not to burn anything out). But if everything is a okay and put together as it should then you should see good oil pressure when it starts.

Have you got an oil pressure gauge that you can plug in for the time being?

have you just bolted ab A15 into a formerly A12 powered vehicle? Which flywheel did you use? It's a common oversight to leave the A15 flywheel on when doing this swap. The A15's have a thicker flywheel, and need a different (shorter) throwout bearing carrier. If you have the wrong combo, the clutch fork might be bottoming out before it can get far enough foward to hook the clutch cable over. There's also not much room between the fork and the tunnel to get your hand into. Sometimes you can get a bit more room to work with by lowering the gearbox on a jack.

ok so i ran it for maybe a minute or two and it got really hot really quick (up to 90 degrees) and the oil pressure still didnt come up grrrr. it ran like a NA motor with a really bad vacuum leak (i.e. booster hose taken off) and im worried about running it without oil pressure ... if there is someone who know more about rebuilt motors then me i could really use some help sometime this week to get my head around this ... there will be a vid in my build topic
