I have been having some "issues" with 3rd peg in Betty of late, snagging and that sort of thing. Over the last week or so 2nd was also being a tad non-complient aswell. I parked up town in front of my local spare parts outlet. Went inside to pickup the new ignition modules for the Corsair. Got back in Betty and proceeded to reverse out. She gave a little shudder as if you had a crook uni. Select 1st and off I go. Change up, snag 2nd, 3rd disappeared completely, top ok. Got home(3 blocks away) shift into neutral so I can open the gate and the most horrific noise eminated from the gearbox accompanied by a rather unnerving shudder. Now when I put it in reverse it sounds like a large rocks in a cement mixer. Did not sound or feel good at all!
I thinks it done busted! Oh well the reco box should be here from Brisbane tomorrow. I am so glad I got the Corsair going. At least I still have wheels of sorts! I'll get the box out over the next few days and post some damage pics. I have a feeling it will make the dedicated puke.

Just had an idea for a photo gallery "MR DAMAGE" or even better an award of some sort!

Crikey, it's hard to break a four speed with an A12. But at least you have a FORD to drive.

I thought it was pretty impressive. But that box always had a bit of a grumble in it from day one now I guess I know what it was.
It isn,t really a Ford. Sold as Ford Corsair - rebadged Nissan Pintara. CA20E/5spd.
