i was looking on the maddat website, i see they now have a 13bt crossmember and all that stuff with engineer report for $1200.
is the 13bt the same engine mounts and a 13b from a series 3 rx7? and is it worth spending the extra to get one from maddat with the report? or would it be just as easy to make a crossmember myself because i have a mig here, just wondering for getting it engineered later. cheers

Your car will still need to be engineered with or without the maddat one. Check with an engineer there requirements for thickness of plate to use i would at least be saying 4mm bent therefore you have minimal joins/welds. My view is $1200 can go a long way when you make your own or even get it mocked up and get it welded ,if ya like me and cant weld yet.

does anyone know if i need to change to trans tunnel to fit the 13b in my 1200 ute? i have gone to alot of trouble to rebuild my ute so it doesnt have any rust at all in it. so im doing the engine swap while its in pieces. just wondering about the size of the trans tunnel because i dont really want to change it, but if it needs to be done, well its gana have to. cheers

no idea on the actual size of the mazda boxes, but when ANGE did his 12a conversion he welded a bigger tunnel in to accomodate the gearbox

im a big fan of new trans tunnels, and the stock ones are tiny and i doubt would have enough clearance to pass engineers with a larger box in them

Go onto ausrotary and search in the tech section, there's a fair bit of info about 12A's and 13b's into 1200 utes. You'll need a bigger tunnel I'm pretty sure but even if it's a tight squeeze and like PIGDOG new tunnels are just so much easier in the long run.
