Tried to get the engine started this weekend but no spark. I have gone from points (old engine)to electronic ignition (new engine old wiring loom )don't seem to be getting power to the coil.If you bypass the old balast resistor there is still no spark, any suggestions. This is killing me.

Fuses are good. Not sure what type of distributor it is, any suggestions, it has a blue and black wire running off it. I take it they should be pos and neg connections on the coil and if the coil has power to it, it should have spark at the plugs or the coil is not working. Not sure what the readings should be on the coil for a bench test.

well it's a long shot but my coils weren't getting power and it was because my fuse box itself was stuffed.

Do you have the correct coil for your ignition? Some need a seperate ignition module like a ecu for under the dash. I know the US model ignition systems do, yours seems to have the module in the distributor though.

Silly question but are all your earth straps on? Had that a few times when doing conversions etc. Theres the earth strap onto the timing cover and also from bellhousing to the brake line splitter.
