Keep the A10.

A10 blocks and engines are cheap to find. Select the most suitable candidate and have the engine block bored out to 76mm using A15 pistons. Mill the piston crown, (A15 have lower crown height>gudgeon pin). Bore the con-rod gudgeon pin holes to suit the A15 pistons.

Get some port work done on the head and suit it up with a mid-range cam, lightened flywheel and motorcycle carburetors - 4 carbs in a rack.

That would get that ute up and at 'em.

If you get the crank and flywheel balanced and pop some A15 (even A12 springs) on that head you will certainly see 8000rpm quite quickly.

No. the 1200 ute has struts- a completely different suspension system.

The 1000 series have a transverse leaf-spring that spans between the stub axles.

What performance are you expecting?

Perhaps you should take some time to research (on the left side>slow search).

Seems if you own a 1000 utility and cannot distinguish between that and a 1200 engine bay then you may be better off investigating the vehicle you own.....rather than what engines can fit in (to an engine bay you aren't familiar with).

Where are you from that they are that easy to find?

120Y motors are still fairly easy to find in good working order but getting thinner on the ground these days. CMARLEY, where are you from?
