Need a bit of help. Just want to know if a datsun sunny b310 diff would be the same length as a 1200 ute diff ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

To answer the question that you actually asked

The H150 "diff" in the B310 is SHORTER [pinion flange to rear of housing] than the H165 differential in a 1200 ute.

However
The Sunny B310 'rear axle assembly' is WIDER than the 1200 rear axle assembly, drum to drum.[ute or car]

You could run it with FWD offset rims. Is it a shortened R31 diff in the sunny ?

Thanks Dodgeman for that. Might just get an other diff made up i was hoping i could just weld in new brackets but if i have to cut the diff down again then i guess i may as well start with a new diff

Andy its a Toyota Hi-ace diff with R31 disc brake set-up.

Dodgeman are you sure it is shorter? The H150 and H165 use the same driveshaft.

Dd, the H150 rear axle housing has a smaller bulge to the rear to cover the back of the differential ring gear so the distance front to rear [pinion flange mounting face to rear of axle housing] is slightly 'shorter'than the same measurement on a H165 rear axle assembly.

I don't know about the distance from the gasket face of the differential carrier
to the mounting face of the pinion flange but if it is any different, then it wouldn't be much & the distance differance would be accomodated by the sliding yoke at the gearbox end.

In this instance I took the question to mean the measurement of the differential while assembled into the rear axle housing.
