I have a problem with my a14 auto b210. It runs well when is in movement, but when i have to stop or reduce at a crossing or a signal it goes down a lot, and if it doesn`t when i press the gas again the car seams to choke and go down again, i have to acelerate very slowly to keap the car of going down again! Can anyone help me? I though it was the idling or the distributor but is not.
thanks in advance

Sounds like you are either being starved for fuel, watch float bowl site glass at 2500 or so RPM and make sure the fuel stays in the float for at least 1 min. Or your accelarator pump is malfunctioning, look down carb when not running and watch for steady stream of gas when the pedal is engaged which should continue streaming after the pedal has stopped moving for a moment. Or last but not least you have a major vacuum issue, spray carb cleaner around your vacuum lines and the base of the carb and listen for changes in engine sound.

Thank you ericsb210 i think maybe is the 2nd choice. Is it possible to put a regular a12 or a15 carb in a auto transmssion engine?

It would be easier to put in a new acc pump than to change carbs, and the pump is usually pretty inexpensive. Being that you have an automatic the carbs have a few different components attached to them. I would recommend rebuilding the one you have only if the shaft doesn't have two much play. The rebuild kit would have the acc punp in it, also. If you decide to rebuild your carb and if you have not done it before, it is not to hard, just be patient. Soak the carb parts in Berrymans for the full time alloted per thier instructions. Make a poster with numbers on it that correspond with the rebuild sheet, put parts on your poster board as you disasemble it on the proper numbers. At least that's what I do, it is to hard for me to remember where all those tiny parts belong. And most of all try to do it in a dust free enviroment and clean hands at all times

New pump is part of the $15 carburetor "kit". But don't do this unless you test it and it's bad.
Turn the engine off and wait for it to cool down. Look down the carb and open the throttle. You should see a steady thin stream of fuel. If it is intermitten the pump is not working correcly. If it looks good don't try to rebuild the carb.
Most problem like this with automatics are the vacuum leaks, not the distributor or carburetor hardware.
But to be sure, check the dwell angle first, it is quick and simple. If the dwell is wrong fix that.

Thanks for the tips. Ddonzal i make this things with the engine off? I`m sorry for my bad english, but what is the dwell angle? i think the problem is really that, the vacuum leaks. Ohhh i`m so tempted to just put it a 4 speed gearbox.

I think the problem is not related to the automatic transmission. My advice is to found out what the problem is. Or you could just swap transmissions. If that doesn't solve it, you could swap the auto back in.
Dwell is the setting for the contact points. Do you have a repair manual? They all explain how to check the dwell.

I went to my local mechanic and he told me that the contact points were fine. Yesterday i went for a 10min drive and then it started with the same problem when i stop in traffic lights or in turnrounds the car dies. I`ve managed to bring the car and this morning it was fine! Could this be from the ignition coil???
