I think it would be a good idea to ask the cam grinder for that kind of information, unless it's a factory grind, then you would hit the factory manual for the info.

Tighe Cams list a 270 for the A series engine so click on the link for some info.

Wade Cams do not list a 270, but their duration is measured at 0.050" of lift at the tappet so their figure for an identical cam would be less.

I don't understand what you are saying.
Is it a factory standard cam, or is it a reground cam?
I have never heard of Nissan re-grinding cams on an individual basis before.

Tight cams? I think you mean Tighe cams. Have a look through their whole website as they have lots of good information about cams in general & I'm sure that the info that you need will be there.
I would be setting the tappet clearance hot because this is how the engine normally runs & at least for me, a cold tappet setting is just for the purpose of getting the engine running in order to warm it up.

For cams, a tighter lash gives the camshaft more duration, more time the valve is off of the seat. A looser lash = less duration. Hotter race camshafts are ground with more duration that other street grinds. There is only 360 deg in a circle, so longer duration gives some overlap (that is when both valves are off of their seats). Race cams idle rather "lumpy".

In general, a camshaft ground with a lot of overlap needs to have a bigger valve lash. Otherwise the tighter lash would make even more total overlap. Too much overlap and you cannot get the engine started. A cam with lesser overlap can be run at tighter lash.

We have one high rpm, long duration cam over here in the US that, unless you run 0.025-0.028" (0.71mm) valve lash, you cannot get it started. Sure is noisy. On other, less overlap cams, we have run as little as 0.010-0.012" lash.

We start with the cam grinder's recommendation and then adjust on the dyno or at the track in small increments to see if we gain an advantage opening or closing the lash. That cam recommended to run 0.010-0.012" we ran at 0.014" for a small gain.
