Is my bluebird diff a LSD?

This may be a stupid question but here goes.
I bought a complete TRX diff the other day and when I spin 1 wheel and hold the diff flange (bit that joins diff to tailshaft) both wheels spin in the same direction. When I spin 1 wheel, not holding the tailshaft flange only 1 wheel spins.
Is this a LSD?

Sounds open, LSD as I think you seem to have already cottoned on to - spin one wheel the other spins in the opposite direction (at least in every LSD I've seen)

if 1 spings or they spin in opposite directions, then its open.

if its an lsd that works, they will both spin the in same direction. takes a lot of force to get a good lsd to slip.

its probably a dead open centre, i had a 200b diff that used to spin 2 wheels all the time as the spider gears were just cruising around all over the place inside the diff

if you hold the pinion flange and turn one wheel the opposite wheel will turn in the other direction whether it's LSD or open. If it is LSD you will have to apply enough torque to overcome the friction in the clutches. This is for a clutch type LSD, the Quaife ATB type LSD are a bit different but I can't explain as I don't fully understand how they work

lol DATUTE1....I knew what I meant somehow manage to say the complete opposite! If only I were right we'd be rich in LSDs.

Lock pinion flange & turn 1 wheel

Open center, ...opposite wheel turns opposite direction.
LSD, ....... you will not be able to turn the wheel at all.

Think about it.

Ok, I thought about it, incase I was mistaken. But I still think what I said is true, with either open or LSD, if you turn one wheel, with the pinion held stationary, the opposite wheel will turn in the opposite direction won't it?
With the drive pinion held the ring gear and so the diff casing, carrier, housing, or whatever you want to call it is also stationary. When the wheel turns, the axle will turn the side gear, (which once the breakaway torque of the clutches is exceeded in the case of a LSD) will turn the pinion gears or spider gears or whatever you want to call them, which will then turn the opposing side gear in the opposite direction, just like an open differential. Or am I missing something?
