Gday all, seeing as you are the datsun 1000 experts i was hoping you could help me out,
Problem 1, The right hand rear brake locks under hard braking and i have no clue why its doing this and is becoming rather dangerous, note brake system is completely stock.
Problem 2, My right hand front and guard indicators are not working yet the rear right is? the bulbs have not blown soo i am unsure what this is all about, this too is also becoming dangerous
Cheers in advance, Jake

The drums and brake setups in the 1k get problematic as they get older. (understandabily)
I would suspect that the slave cyclinder is not releasing completly, so when you hit the brakes it comes on before the other side. You may need to remove it and get it resealed.
Dattoman_1000 would be the guru on this...
As for the indicators, get a multimeter out and find where the power stops. It could be a broken wire somewhere.
Once you locate where the power stops, it becomes much eaiser.

Thanks reuby :) also my brake lights only work under very heavy pressure, not everyday braking when they need to be seen, is this adjustable?
ALSO *rolls eyes* The temp and fuel guage rarely work and when they do they raise to the measured fuel height or engine temp then back down again :S

the temp and fuel gauges.. needs a new voltage regulator.. I can get new ones..
do the brakes propperly, replace the wheel cyl's and adjust the brakes.. you'll be more than happy with the results.. the stock drums work well when they are fresh..

The lights are operated by a pressure switch mounted on the fire-wall, it kinda looks like a splitter (well it is) but it has a couple of wires coming out of it. When you apply pressure it is meant to activate the lights.
So I suppose two things can be wrong, mechanical fault (poor pressure) and electrical fault (switch/wiring).
Sounds like all it needs a little clean-up and a few bits and bobs replaced.
