Hey guys, it's been a while since i've posted a thread here in a long while. For those of you who remember (which may be no one) I was having trouble solving a wiring mystery with my '79 210. After about 6 months, I finally solved the problem. While I was messing around testing wiring back from the battery, I decided to shoot in some contact cleaner around the problem area. The next thing I knew my turn signal was on. I knew that the root of the problem had something to do with the lack of power to the fusebox. Turns out, one of the connections in this particular harness were dirty! Minutes later my Datsun was running. I cannot explain how excited I was!

Anyway, Ive started working on my interior; eg. fixing the headliner, adding some wood trim pieces and starting to build a compartment where the back seat used to be. Now that i'm finally thinking about getting back on track with this, I have some random questions:

1. Does anyone know where I could get a better looking bumper? Maybe one without the North American rubber bumper guards like a euro b310 bumper or 1200 bumper?

2. I have some wine in my rear diff and I'd like to upgrade. I'm not sure what diff if any could be installed without completely ripping the car apart and eventually i'd like to give my engine some more power without breaking my current diff.

I guess those are all the questions I have for now. Any helpful information would greatly be appreciated. I'll be posting new pics soon. Thanks

Welcome back aaron

Get the bumpers from Australia. Shipping is a bit, so go the slow boat 6-week option.

Get the H165 rear axle assembly from 1978-1981 Datsun 510 (A10). It is nearly identical. There was one in the wrecking yard here earlier this year.

But for a whine, just replace the center section with another Datsun 210 (B310) center section. Pretty easy, less expensive and less risky than trying to rebuild it. It can take 50% more power than stock.

Thanks for the info DD. Where do I go about finding the bumpers in Australia? Is there a website or perhaps someone in the forum here has some available? I'm not real sure.
As far as the diff goes, finding one here in the states (especially the midwest) is pretty hard to find. Most of these old Datsun, Toyota and Mazda cars are fragments of rust now. When I lived in Phoenix I was only able to find one other 210 parts car in a junkyard. Any info on where I can find this stuff would be awesome. Thanks again.

Post an advert here in the Classified -- or watch Ebay Australia and wait for one to show up.

You can figure out the postage by going to Australia Post -- http://auspost.com.au/
