I bought this today, thought it was particularly cool as it was so small and of the sort of style that would suit my 1000.

One question, the needle sits a little higher than it should, is this a fault? Will it return to where it should once it's 'on' Or have I bought a dud?

Or is it a matter of adjusting it? I didn't notice it when I bought it.

Any advice on the co-coordinating of the wires would be appreciated too.

Hard to say. Some will read correctly when operating, but some would be off that amount.

what are the colors of the wires? Red or Blue is usually the tach signal (neg terminal of coil) and black is earth/ground. Blue might be the lamp is there is a red wire, but if not then yellow.

Even if it is broken, it should be a relative easy fix. Do you have any instrument repairers in your locale. Yours appear to be a mechanical fault rather than an electrical one. A balance and calibration should see it just right. I use a repairer local to me, and they do excellent work.

Thanks very much guys. Awesome!

I'll give it a go and see how it works, I had a look at it and it looks like it has been opened up before so I reckon it might have a problem. But the old dude insisted it worked well. I'll wire it up and see how it goes.

Made in Japan too by the way!
