steer box oil weight....

whats a good type / weight of oil for the stock 1200 steer box? I didn't look to see what the factory spec was, not sure what the is - 90W? personally that seems a little thick.....

suggestions?

80W-90 is appropriate for our climate (0F - 100F)

75W-140 is approprate for all climates (cold or hot).

I've got a qt. of motorcycle 80W gearcase oil for my old H1 500 I just changed it to. Side note - that was an amazing difference, went from 10-30 Castrol to 80W MC oil & no more sticky clutch.

I assume that'll work well in the steer box.
