anyone ever replace the seal/sealant the the wing window glass seats into in the stainless base of the glass? I took mine apart to replace the glass seal & paint the posts prior to putting them in the doors & the glass came right out of the stainless base. Is that sealant or a seal of some sort originally?
Thanks, Evan

By wing do you mean the front 1/4 light windows that pivot open?

Mine had a rubber seal in the base originally, but it fell to bits when I removed the glass:(

Yes, the quarter window & my rubber seal fell apart as well. I'm thinking of just some very thin rubber sheet material that I put in with some adhesive & slip fit the glass into it with soapy water. Its either that or silicone or urethane them back in.

well since nobody came up with a brilliant idea for me I figured one out which seems to work pretty well.

Here's the wing glass & frame with the original rubber pulled out...

here's where I used an inner tube from as mountain bike I have to replace the rubber under the glass, I had to double it up but if fits quite snug now & wont go anywhere, this worked amazingly well. After fitting the glass into the base just knife off the excess rubber w/an Exacto or razor blade.
