Trying to get a road worthy and the mechanic has said that the rubber capps (sorry dont know the techical term) that sit on top of the front stuts against the body are cracked and need to be replaced to get the road worthy. Can anyone suggest where I can get a pair? Also the streering column moves around a bit and needs to be stabilised. I assume there is a part that has worn that stabilises the stearing column. It doesnt move from the base, that is securly bolted to the body. Its within the column. Can anyone also assit with this? I would appreciate any feedback as I need to get the road worthy ASAP.

steering column has a bush at the top that disentegrates, hard to fix properley, but easy to fix if you pull the wheel off and have a bit of a look, you can make something up that will slot in there and get rid of the play out of plastic or some other thing you can find around the house.

second hand "strut tops" is proabbly the quickest cheapest fix for the other one, maybe use some tyre black or something to clean em before you go back so they look super healthy
