as the title states im in need of a timing covor and the timing chain tensioner as i lost mine in the shed somewhere i think it got tossed out

whent to the wreckers today and he wanted $185 for a timing covor :( stupid junior sedans and there price jacking. does anyone have an old one kicking around they want to part ways with

You went to the wrong wreckers! They have ones here too which are expensive, but also the inexpensive pick-n-pull places. And some in-between... I saw two timing A-series covers today in one yard.

$185 is probably understandable as the removal off an existing engine would render it un useable,assuming it is'nt dead,and we all know it's hard to find a totally dead A series.
Maybee you should look for a complete engine on flea bay for the same or less money.

you have a fair point bert. i just assumed it not to be a high demand part and of not to much value. il see what i can dig up iv got one on my current motor and was just going to swap them over when i put the turbo a series in but i figured if i could get one it would save me doing the swap over.

new tensioners are available at regular auto parts stores (try supercheap or repco).

$185 for used parts is price gouging ...
