The Alfa was such a developed car especially if in GTAm specs. Does anyone know if they used the GTAm specs 1999cc 16v engine, alloy & plastic parts/panels, injection etc?

The BRE 240z datsun driven by morton also 'easily' took the 1970 and 1971 scca c production championship beating cars like triumphs and porshes!

The alphas and bmw QUIT the series apparently due to the datsun dominance in the 2.5 TranAm championship.in essence ending the series due to a lack of interest...

same thing with mark skaife R32 gtr (also a datsun lol) dominating bathurst in australia.solution: banning turbo and all wheel drive.

Very true in return about Oz, hence Ive never bothered with Bathurst since the intro of 2 brand taxi tourers.

Pushrods I am a fan of but not without variety of makes and bodies. If they placed limits equal for every1 with all makes allowed , then id be a fan.

Id love to see a toyota and nissan pushrod v8s go head to head not to mention Mazda, Dodge, Fiat or any make.

Going further...

Secondly a new class running midget styled engines of under 4 litres basically halve V8 slant 4s. Mazda rotary should be allowed in the above class. This would be like a budget class after the initial setup as only halve the parts of an 8.

Also a unlimited engine tech class with boosted 3 and 4 cylinders with common turbo/restrictors and manifolds for under 2 litres. This one suits most manufacturers.

All with the same weight, wheelbase and no 4wd, then we`d see a more exciting yet even playing field.

What I like about that BRE video, is that you see John morton helping to work on the car. How many V8 sillycar drivers would do that? Not many I'd say.
