I've had enough of this queer-splined steering shaft in the ute.

How hard would it be to pull the shaft out of my wagon and put it in the ute?

Or will the whole column have to be unbolted from the steering box and firewall on both cars and just swap the whole lot?

The wagon doesn't have a steering lock-type ignition switch, and I don't really feel like drilling the heads of the snaphead bolts out of the ute one to put it on the wagon column.

With Datsun 1200, the column is one piece with the steering gearbox.

Wagon/Coupe/Sedan/Ute use the same gearbox.

Looking at the one in the ute, the column unbolts from the steering box?

Like we said, your ute does not have the stock steering column fitted.

Turn signal switch is exactly the same as the wagon and sedan one. The whole lot is pretty much exactly the same as wagon and sedan, its just the spline is either 1 tooth too short or 1 tooth too many.

What do the sunny/b310's and b10's have?

B10 spline is same as B110 and B210.

B310 spline is different. Not sure how.

Is there some way at all to remove the top half of the steering shaft from the sliding part in the collapsible column?
