Hi, can anyone recommend a decent mechanic to get my ute looked at for a rwc around bayside area?
It's all stock and fairly tidy.

Cheers,
Daniel

if its stock and tidy you should be able to take it anywhere

there is stuff all ADR's that apply to our cars, so it's a basic...are the brake and steering components in good condition, if so then fine

if not you should be fixing that stuff for your own safety anyway

All front end bushes and tie rod ends etc are brand new, got 120y struts all in good nic.
The drivers seat has rips in it but has a seat cover. I know I can take it anywhere but don't wanna get dicked around for small #OOPS# like hair line crack in a tail light lense or no water in the washer bottle if your picking up what I'm putting down.

Cheers

Not hard to top up wash up bottle and clear nail polish helps cover lense cracks.

Throw out more issues- I'm sure we all have the "fixes" to get through

Oh and if washer bollte leaks, leave it empty then smear silicon on the leak and then gafaa over it. Let it dry then fill it up. It really should work though. Not hard go get another filler bottle out at a wrecker from any Ol car.

But does anyone recommend a place I can take it to? Anyone have experience with any mechanics in the area?

No body would probably post the details if a tester that's forgetting to check over a car throughly. I took mine into a random rwc place and only needed 2 things. So it's probably better just to shop around.

Id try your local smaller guy that hasheaps of older cars rather than a big chain of mechanics. But some will still try and say things need replacing so they can make $$ from the testing.

I used a guy on Spring street in reservoir who had a look, gave me a list of things to fix and approved it when I'd done it all. I only got charged the one fee, what ever the standard rate was at the time. He was a one man band at a servo with a few old cars hanging around....

As above, find a place that deals in older cars rather than one that is going to list every tiny thing.

My guy was most concerned with the safety and general condition which was pretty good, another one I went to previously listed every minor detail but missed things like blown indicator bulbs..
Go figure..
