motor re-done --cams 296 --heads done- bigger valves - a15 crank --throttle bodies itb -hall dist.what is a good setting to start with -dist. have started --but slight flame out of t/bodie and don't run on it's own. 79mm pistons etc

A starting point would be around 10 BTDC or even 12 BTDC.

what you need to do is find a reasonable setting that will allow you to start it, as the Rev says 10-12 BTDC is prob OK.

Then you need to set max mechanical advance to a suitable setting (make sure the vac advanve tube is disconnected and plugged), from memory I used to run approx 35 BTDC, all in by 3500rpm.

Unless you have had your dissy re-curved, you will probably find that you won't be able to get both the correct max advance and a suitable idle advance together..

thanks chaps. I had the setting at 10 as i read on here somewhere.It does start but with difficulty.closed fuel reg slightly cos fuel pressure was'nt up --all new part so have to adjust.Go- tech has to be loaded to --but i dont have windows xp and its not compatible with mine. go-tech ecu.i suppose its i owe i owe its off to the dyno i go.
