I'm looking at buying a 1000 coupe. Few of the guards and bits have seen better days. What would you usually look at paying for a straight bonnet, front guards and doors?

No i'm looking at buying a datsun 1000 coupe i found on a friends grand parents farm, the front guards, the bonnet and doors are in fairly ordinary shape. I'm just wondering if i was to start shopping for good condition parts what would i be looking at spending for straight gear? If it cost heaps to get this stuff my money may be better spent on buying one in better condition to begin with.

Due to the rarity of the 1000s its hard to find parts
now, especially since the current but late jdm craze
which is too late to save the many that were crushed
or raced/smashed in speedway and paddocks over its
history. If you can restore what it has it would be
good otherwise FRP bonnet and guards are avail.

It not like a mini or popular enthusiast car so it
has little support worldwide.
However it is such a simple car that its also practical
to restore and own.

A friend of mine had a bonnet restored and painted for
800 dollars!!! for a mazda 800 but he loves the car and
its looks like it came from the showroom yesterday.

Can we put approx dollar value on any of these items? If i do find these parts i don't want to offer too much or be insulting and offer a pittance.

In an ideal situation I would prefer FRP and keep
the steel bits in storage as back up for FRP.

Well those prices are reasonable as far as i'm concerned. My brother paid $900 each for 2 straight guards for the front of his XY falcon lol.
I suppose it comes down to rarity and how much you are willing to pay to get what you want.
