I had not taken the old fella (B10, A15 turbo 25 psi, dellow 5speed, B/W sigma diff, 4 puck ceramic clutch.)for a run in a while, and it still goes like stink.
It always seems to surprise me about how the old fella can fry the rear bags in 3rd gear when I plant the right foot.
I had an a-series fly wheel machined to suit a 200mm celica 4 button ceramic clutch and high performance pressure plate, and although it is a little troublesome in the supermarket carpark it is worth the comprimise.
I`m thinking that I owe the old fella a few bones and thinking I might go for some sort of after-market EFI system, I think i like the sound of the Megasquirt system, but some say "if it aint broke don`t fix it" however although it starts without any problems, it does use quite a lot of fuel (10-12 Ltrs/100km) and runs a bit rough until the inlet manifold heats up.
I know that I`ve got to accept the robbery of peter to pay paul.
It seems I have solved the tramping problem that was quite an issue after the swap into the sedan, with a set of new urethane bushes in the back end (what was I thinking with original `67 items)
I love driving my old datsuns and hope I never have to result to to driving a modern (1981 on) car.
I know I`m probably in a fortunate situation as I live in tassie (no road worthy, have pleanty of money and, can weld up almost anything) but I work hard and pay a lot of taxes and rego.
Has anyone had any sucsess with the megasquirt system?
Any positive and or negative comments will be greatly apreciated.
Datsonovic.
