i went in to get rego to day but long story short queensland transport are a pack of knob heads and i need a surrgate chassis no.

so i have a few questions
1. do i have to book in to get it done (how long of a wait is it if you do?)
2. do you have to pay for it
and 3. i know i have to take it to a cop shop to get done but can i take it to any one?

thanks, Jac

thats crap, they wont give you a b120 chassis number, just an x number, cut the numbers off another ute and put em in yours, unless the utes stolen... then give it back to its owner

no not usually, unless the later utes had them there

normally on the flat section near the passenger side bonnet hinge, in the area above the firewall which i guess is the front of the cowl

in your picture it looks like something weird is going on (possibly section cut out of car there?) but its only just in picture so hard to tell

there's a page in the wiki about chassis numbers, but this image is probably the most interesting bit of it to you at this time

i have not seen the "car plate" which you show in your picture ever before, the key one is the one on the cowl

my bluebird wagon just had some discrepencies when I regod it, appently the chassis number did not come up at all (even though the dealership rego'd it in feb 85'....) and the motor turned up a Q####### number which I do not believe is any nissan number? We sorted it now.
