I am fitting a H165 (4.11-1 ratio) diff to my 1200 coupe rally car. It's out of a late 1200 ute. I need a new tailshaft as my existing one doesn't fit . The tailshaft I think needs to be about 60mm shorter. Can anyone help , I'm in the Newcastle area but will travel

You need a ute tailshaft. It has the correct flange for the H165 and is a little shorter.

Yes that sound right, the coupe is fitted with 60A 5 speed (not sure if that changes anything). Just have to find someone willing to sell me one

Don't h150 have a similar flange to h165? Just needs shortening then. Might be easier option

Yes I think you're right! A tailshaft from a H150 diff would be fine and I could get someone around Newcastle to shorten it. Cheers

Hi I have a heavy duty h165 tail shaft and a standard one too. The heavy duty one has bigger replaceable uni joints so might be real good for rallying. I'm a bit late but pm if you are keen

Hi mate thanks for the offer but I picked up a tailshaft in Sydney last Tuesday. I haven't tried it yet so if this one doesn't work I'll give you a call. Thanks again, Dan
