I get about 1,287cc.... Pi x Radius (half of bore) squared x depth (stroke) x 4, all divided by 1000.

4( (22/7) x 38.25 x 38.25 x 70)
1000

22/7 is about the closest I know to pi, without having a scientific calculator. Hope this helps!

That's a hot find! Basically similar to TS1300 racing motor (if they are flat-top pistons). In NSW, you can owner-certify a 1287cc engine, while an A14 needs engineer certification.

And with the short stroke, it'll really rev. Well so will an A15, but it makes me feel better about my A12 to say that.

Should see the head that came with it. H89 large valves, double springs, bigger ports than the Peter zekert gx head I've got! Scored some front doors, 13 inch hotwires with semi slicks, a coupe dash, 2 1200 ute diffs, few tailshafts, coupe rear bar and a few other random bits. Was all heading to scrap metal!!!!!!

It's a great find. That's for sure.

We've fitted the a14 to several 1200s in the past 20 years without needing an engineers cert in NSW.

Unless something changed in the past couple of months.

Id love to find such treasure in a scrap yard

VSI 06 "owner certified":
Quote:
Engine changes where the capacity is less than 15% above the maximum engine size available for the vehicle
VSI 06 is from November 2007

1171 * 1.15 = 1347
