hi I want to measure how much my total timing is and i was reading in tech wiki that i can measure 39mm anticlockwise from the original mark on the pulley and make a mark and by 4800rpm it should line up with 0deg on the timing cover?

also to measure 39mm can i measure a non stretchy rope or somthing to 39mm cut it the wrap it on the pulley and mark the point?

also is the pulley on the 120y 138mm??

Thanks!

put a couple of timiing marks on pulley,u have std tdc from factory, then mark 1 at 10deg, then 20,then 30,then 40,and 50 btdc.then you can work it out.cheers

using factory mark put on tdc first zero on timing case, then turn motor back to 10deg on timing case, then re-make a mark where the zero is on timing case.do this every 10 deg's x5.

That's a good idea. Plus you'll have marks every 10 degrees

Regarding the other method, rather than figure it out mathematically (360 degrees/circumference of the pulley) you could buy a timing wheel, ordered from your local auto parts store.
