Looking for a 5-speed transmission for my SCCA GTL 1200 coupe. I'm running an A12 engine. Prefer one in US if possible.

Thanks,

pete

Peter Zerkert is your "go to" guy for all things related to SCCA 1200 bits, especially the F5C56A gearbox.
If he doesn't have it, he knows folks who do and can provide you with "been-there-broke-that-and-fixed-it-better" info.

Good luck!

Yea, I've been to his site. It's hard to swallow paying more for a transmission than I did for the entire car!

I plan on racing the car in vintage events BTW.

LOL! Well, the F5C56A gearboxes are getting more scarce as time goes by and we racers keep beating the stuffings out of them, so the prices for the survivors tend to drift upwards. Back when I was a kid, one could order the boxes straight away from the NISMO catalog for a comparative pittance, but that was last century. Which reminds me, I did communicate recently with a gent on the East coast who was pondering the dispersal of his 1200 SCCA spares, which included a F5C56A box and some bits for it, so if you drop me a PM, I'll share his particulars. My 1200 coupe is just now finally coming from the body shop for reassembly into a vintage racing terror - perhaps late this season it will hit the track.
