Hi all, at the risk of sounding like a total rookie...!! i was looking at some seats today for my 1200 ute..

I was in a Sparco suppliers shop and the guy asked if i needed an 'RDA Approve' (i think he said 'RDA'), seat or not...

I assumed it had something to do with being able to engineer the car so i said yes, but i am wondering what exactly it means as there where a lot more seats available which are not approved..

Can anyone help..??

ADR approved is what you want. Legally certified for use on Australia roads to avoid defects and unwanted attention. Did he give you a list of seats that he said were approved because some might be to big to fit a datsun

They showed me about 3 that where. The one I liked most was the sprint v. It was the only fixed back one and also the smallest of the 3..
They did say though that the name of the seat had changed from sprint 5 to sprint v (roman numeral for 5), the only catch with that is that the certificate for ADR approval is for the sprint 5 and not the sprint v... Exact same seat but different name..

I will have to do some more research but I thinks that's what I will go with pending the certificate.

FYI, it was by far the cheapest at $499 rather than close to $1000..
