Hi guys I have a couple of questions firstly am I right in assuming that you can get more power out of a turbo set up compared to a super charger set up on my 1200 engine?
And secondly what would be the most straight / easiest to set up out of the two on a 1200 engine?
I know the best route would probably be to upgrade to a bigger engine. But I really like my 1200 engine its a fresh build and has already had some work done to it so I would like to get some more use out of it.
I just wouldant mind playing around with the performance a bit more.
Thanks
Andy

A turbo will give you more power from the same boost as a charger but will have lag. so depends what you want. if you want fast response and good power from low down then charger is the way. but if you want a bit more go and dont mind lag and ul need to rev it more to make the turbo spool up then turbo it. either of them i would still put an intercooler and as a road car i would turbo it, because as a road car you dont really need the response. its not like your building a race car. unless you are lol... hope this helps.

Well I've had both it's much eaiser to setup a sc and unless u want to run big boost you don't need a cooler! As for your motor being already having work done, has it been built for boost or just a mild street tune? If just a street tune then the cam may need work for boost! Also depends on how much you want to spend then there are many options, efi? Ect

I am struggling to find some info on super charger the 1200 at this point I have no idea about what is needed to be done to run a super charger, I am hopeing to find a build thread somewhere that I can gather some info from.

Thanks mate, reading through your thread has nearly put me off, after doing all of that work and then the motor going pop would not be good.
I guess its a matter of either beefing up my internals to run boost or charge a bigger motor?
Also I would be doing all of the work myself because I live in a crap country town with no decent car mechanics. Unless I own a commadore or a tractor no one wants to know me :(
